“San Francisco police report dozens of arrests at 49ers-Packers game,” Local News, Monday
49ers fans’ taunts ruined game for him
I was in attendance at the Green Bay Packers vs. 49ers divisional playoff game Saturday night in San Francisco.
I was appalled at the actions of a good number of the fans around me as I watched them not only taunt other fans, but also using swear words to mock those of us that follow the Packers.
I watched some 49ers fans tease a 60-something-year-old Packers fan so much that they had her in tears. I watched her leave the game.
This was a game that is meant for fun and entertainment, and while some form of rivalry is normal, the actions I witnessed that night were beyond that and made some people very uncomfortable.
I had heard a lot of positive things about 49ers fans in the past, but did not experience that. I was disheartened to see the fans that took their team’s win to the extreme and ruined the experience for others.
It’s too bad that these fans ruined the game for the rest of us no matter who wins or loses.

Total safety is impossible
When The City’s streets, schools, theaters, museums, malls and shopping centers are no longer safe, you know that the lawless have won. Drills to prepare San Francisco public-school students for gunmen on campuses are in the works.
However, in a free society where everyone has equal rights, there can never be complete safety, and all must be prepared for the inevitable.
It’s like during World War II and the Cold War, when children in schools were taught to get under their desks in case of a nuclear war. Similar measures will not protect the children in schools.
? Prison system crisis
State taking wrong turn
Gov. Jerry Brown has certainly found himself between a rock and a hard place in dealing with federal court edicts to comply with our state prison system’s self-imposed problems.
Indeed, the governor’s prison realignment of shifting prisoners to county jails, early releases, and fighting the liberal 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals’ intended release of 9,000 criminals is simply another side effect of California’s liberal plague. This leaves us in even more danger — added to our children being miseducated at great expense, our economy in decay, and our taxes and the cost of living steadily rising.
If it were not for California setting the bar for government growth, the selfish interests of state corrections officer and teacher unions, costly and unnecessary environmental extremes, and inviting illegal immigrants to take advantage of health, education, welfare and housing benefits, there would be no criminal justice, prison system or budget crisis.
Coupled with inviting more federal intrusion on state’s rights, a reckless Democrat supermajority in the Legislature, and regulatory madness, our state is surely headed for disaster. Alas, the conservative cure, of course, has always been available but ignored: Very limited government, less taxation and regulation, more personal and property rights, and stimulated free enterprise.
