  • The Big Game between Stanford and Cal will resume in its normal late-November slot next season.

After the Big Game was forced to be played in mid-October in 2012, it will be back to its traditional late-November slot in 2013.

The Pac-12 Conference unveiled its 2013 schedule on Thursday and the annual rivalry game between Stanford and Cal is slated for Nov. 23 at Stanford Stadium.

Stanford, which won the Rose Bowl game for the first time in 40 years on Jan. 1, will open the season against San Jose State at home Sept. 7. The Cardinal will follow that with a trip to West Point to take on Army on Sept. 14. Stanford’s third nonconference game is the annual showdown against Notre Dame, slated for Nov. 30 at home, a matchup which could have national championship implications.

New Cal coach Sonny Dykes will face a tough start to the schedule in his first season at the helm.

Three of the Bears’ first four games are against Northwestern (Aug. 31 at home), Ohio State (Sept. 14 at home) and

Oregon (Sept. 28 on the road). Those three teams went a combined 34-4 this past season.

The Pac-12 championship is scheduled for Dec. 7.
