- Mindy McCready was involuntarily ordered to go to a treatment facility for a mental health and alcohol abuse evaluation.
Country singer Mindy McCready has had a sad life, and now her family is hoping that by sending her to a treatment facility for “mental health and alcohol abuse evaluation” she might be able to turn things around.
E! reports that her two children were removed by an Arkansas family services agency Thursday and that a judge ordered her involuntarily committed for 21 days. Distraught over the death of her boyfriend, songwriter David Wilson, from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in January, McCready allegedly turned to the bottle.
According to The Huffington Post, McCready has made multiple suicide attempts and has fought addiction for years.
“Mindy needs to get help and we all care and love her and we want her to get the right help so she can move on,” a source close to the star told E!
