- Intrusion: Police say two incidents were reported recently involving peeping Toms at homes.
Get a hold of yourselves, people. No, not literally!
The warming Bay Area weather has not only brought out T-shirts and bikinis, but also the pervs. Reports of peeping Toms and public masturbators have increased in recent weeks.
On Thursday in Half Moon Bay, sheriff’s deputies were called to a report of a man who allegedly had been pleasuring himself while peering into a bedroom window at a home on Amesport Landing.
The homeowner called police about 5:40 a.m. and chased after the suspect, but lost sight of him, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office reported. Deputies later spotted the suspect and arrested him after a chase.
Gilberto Flores, 33, was booked on charges of indecent exposure, peeping and resisting arrest, deputies said.
A similar incident reportedly occurred in Fremont in late April. A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of masturbating while staring at a 15-year-old girl through her bedroom window.
And on May 5 in San Francisco, police said, a man who was passing out fliers about electronic recycling was cited for allegedly masturbating in public.
A witness told cops she saw the man in the early afternoon servicing himself on the steps of her house in the 200 block of Moncada Way, just east of Junipero Serra Boulevard.
“The man admitted doing this,” police said.
At least the suspect did not pull off his dirty deed near schoolchildren.
About 8 a.m. May 7, police said a cop responded to a report that a man was exposing himself and defecating in public near a preschool in the 200 block of Eucalyptus Avenue in San Francisco, just north of Stonestown Galleria Mall.
“The officer located the man, who told him that he was drunk and couldn’t ‘hold it,’” police said.
Due to his apparent lack of self-control, the man was booked into County Jail on multiple charges, including being drunk in public, being a public nuisance and having an outstanding warrant, police said.
