  • Nigella Lawson leaves Isleworth Crown Court on December 4, 2013 in London, England. Italian sisters Francesca and Elisabetta Grillo, who worked as assistants to Nigella Lawson and Charles Saatchi, are accused of defrauding them of over 300,000 GBP.
More juicy bits in the Nigella Lawson soap opera have emerged in a fraud trial against two former assistants of the celebrity chef.

When asked about the now-infamous photos of then-husband Charles Saatchi with his hands around her neck, Lawson says he applied more than just physical pressure.

“He said to me at the start that if I didn’t go back to him and clear his name he would destroy me,” The Associated Press reports her saying during the trial.

When she refused to come to his defense, she says he spread “false allegations” of drug use against her.

The TV chef admitted to taking cocaine on occasion, but denied having a problem. “I have never been a drug addict,” she said. “I have never been a habitual user.”
