Newly released Federal Aviation Administration documents and audiotapes, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, verified reports that Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., deliberately landed on a closed runway in the middle of a group of workers in October. Inhofe, 76, landed his Cessna on a south Texas airport runway marked closed with a large X, making construction workers run for their lives as the three-term senator’s plane hopscotched over them and six vehicles.
