While not in NCAAs, seasons still alive for Stanford, USF

While neither the Stanford nor USF men’s basketball teams reached the NCAA Tournament, both schools advanced to
postseason tournaments.

Stanford (21-11) drew a No. 3 seed in the NIT and will host Cleveland State at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, the first time the Cardinal have played beyond the regular season in three years. The winner of that matchup will take on the Mississippi-Illinois State winner.

Meanwhile, USF (20-13) is part of the 16-team College Basketball Invitational field and will host Washington State in a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Should USF advance, it would meet either North Dakota State or Wyoming.
