While neither the Stanford nor USF men’s basketball teams reached the NCAA Tournament, both schools advanced to
Stanford (21-11) drew a No. 3 seed in the NIT and will host Cleveland State at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, the first time the Cardinal have played beyond the regular season in three years. The winner of that matchup will take on the Mississippi-Illinois State winner.
Meanwhile, USF (20-13) is part of the 16-team College Basketball Invitational field and will host Washington State in a first-round game Tuesday at 7 p.m. Should USF advance, it would meet either North Dakota State or Wyoming.
