The wife of disgraced former San Francisco State University director Robert “Bud” Shearer (pictured) was arrested earlier this month in connection with a burglary at the university, where she works as a records supervisor and police dispatcher, according the school’s newspaper.

Julie Shearer is currently on administrative leave following an April 8 arrest on charges that she stole cash from another employee at 100 North State Dr., a campus building, according to the Golden Gate Xpress.

Suspicion that she had been stealing reportedly led to a police sting operation that included hidden surveillance cameras. Upon her arrest, police said, she possessed a coworker’s cash and admitted to two thefts.

The incident came to light following the announcement last week that her husband was facing 128 felony charges in connection with a contract that reportedly cost the school millions of dollars.

Robert Shearer, the head of SFSU’s environmental health and occupational safety division from 2002 to ’09, is accused of taking bribes in order to ensure that a waste disposal company’s costly contract with the university was renewed. He was arrested at his Fremont home April 18 following a lengthy investigation.

The university's police department is also facing some heat in connection with Julie Shearer’s arrest. The alleged theft was not reported on the unversity's police log even though department claims to report such incidents to the public within 48 hours, according to the Golden Gate Xpress.  Patrick Wasley, the university’s police chief, told the newspaper that was an “unfortunate oversight” and said the incident would be posted on the log by today.
